Hannah Hilton
Chief Operating Officer and Human Resource Manager of Cheney Financial Group
The Cheney Financial Group, which consists of Cheney Insurance, Newcastle Realty, and Newcastle Vacation Rentals, has been owned and operated by the Hilton family for over 50 years and Hannah Hilton is continuing this family-owned legacy into a new generation. She oversees operations and marketing for all three companies, as well as directing our involvement in the growth and success of our local communities through our Charitable Giving and Community Outreach Committee.
Hannah is a graduate of the University of Maine with a bachelor's degree in public administration; she also holds an Associate Broker license in real estate, is a licensed Insurance Agent and is certified in Human Resource Management. She will tell you that becoming a mom has only strengthened her professionally, as her role at CFG is employee-centric and requires a deep level of understanding and compassion. Her keen intelligence, clear communication and calm demeanor is invaluable in managing the variety of challenges that arise day to day while supporting the needs of employees and the clients we serve.
She was raised in the mid-coast and currently resides in Lincoln County with her husband and their two young children. In addition to her role with CFG, Hannah is entering her 5th year as VP on the board of directors for Healthy Kids.
Joe Ford
CFO and Vice-President of Operations
In Joe’s own words, he is ‘a dad who happens to be an accountant.’ We know him to be an accounting genius who manages the analysis side of financial performance for the Cheney Financial Group, which includes Cheney Insurance Agency. In addition, Joe provides behind the scenes support for our agents that allows them to focus on outstanding customer service.
Joe played a leading part in our transition to our newly obtained agency management system and it became clear that his role at Cheney is much larger than Controller. Therefore, shortly after the transition Joe was promoted to Chief Financial Officer | Vice-President of Operations.
He demonstrates regularly that he is able to manage multiple tasks as well as to be a team player and an exceptional resource. Undoubtedly, this is due to the frequent fishing, hiking, kayaking, gardening, plasma cutting, welding, and culinary arts he enjoys with his son Quin.
Joe holds an MBA and is an IRS Enrolled Agent.
Holly Harris, CPIA
Vice President Personal Insurance
Holly has been with Cheney Insurance since 2014. She is known around the office for her ingenuity, efficiency and extensive knowledge in the fundamentals and practical details of a good insurance policy. She advocates on behalf of our clients with insurance carriers to provide them with information about the uniqueness of living along the Maine coast and the associated insurance risks. Why? So, they can produce competitive products and our customers can get individualized insurance coverages.
Holly contributes greatly to the supportive, collaborative, team centered approach we take here at Cheney Insurance. She regularly surprises us with her culinary skills and livens up our office with her brilliant sense of humor. A true local, Holly takes pride in her connections to the community.
What may be lesser known about Holly is that she has her Master’s Degree in Criminology, she is an avid fan of the Rolling Stones, and she is a Notary Public.
Jasmyn Rose, CPIA, ACSR
Vice President Business Insurance
Jasmyn has been with Cheney Insurance since 2016. She began her career in our personal insurance department and is now successfully leading the team in the commercial insurance department.
Jasmyn considers herself a young professional. We agree. She is bright, insightful, and a great listener. Jasmyn is dedicated to helping others and values the trust established between her and the business clients we serve. A local to the Mid-coast region, Jasmyn is familiar with the risks businesses in this area are faced with and uses that understanding to better serve her clients. Her knowledge of the industry and ability to motivate makes her a great team leader.
She is a Super User of our agency management system, a designation given out to people who are trained to instruct others on how to navigate through the system. She continues to help our team to reach optimization using this system so that we can provide integrated and efficient customer service to our clients.
A mother of two, Jasmyn is an expert at multitasking. She attributes her skills of working cooperatively and listening to other’s opinions to her involvement in sports. She lives a healthy, active lifestyle and inspires others around her to do the same.
Bobbi Lynn Monaghan, ACSR
Business Insurance Agent
Bobbi Lynn brightens our offices with her radiant laughter and positive and caring attitude. She is hardworking and gives 100% to whatever task is before her.
Bobbi Lynn works in our business insurance department and holds the unique designation of passing her licensing exam on the first try. She takes pride in being able to communicate the details of insurance coverages so that they are easily understood by our clients.
She was born in the Azores, on the island of Terceira, into a Navy family and has lived on both the East and West Coast of the United States.
Bobbi Lynn is a proud Marine Mom. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, horseback riding, and volunteering at her local food bank.
Kristina Childers
Personal Insurance Agent
Since joining our team at Cheney, we have valued Kristina’s positivity and her desire to develop new skills and broaden her knowledge base.
Kristina holds a Maine Property and Casualty License and is in the process of obtaining her Life Insurance License. She believes the work she does is crucial to the community. She appreciates that insurance is something that everyone needs and assists our clients in finding the right protection to safeguard their loved ones and financial security. Kristina cares that the details of a policy are clearly understood and has received three awards for outstanding customer service.
Kristina is a native of Ohio and now calls Maine home with her two daughters and their family dogs Cow and Bailey. A personal goal is to travel the world to experience different cultures.
Heather McKenna
Personal Insurance Agent
A native to Boothbay Harbor, Heather has been an active member in the Lincoln County community for as long as she can remember. While raising her three daughters at home, Heather served on the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for several years before accepting a position as Membership Director of the Chamber. In this position, she thoroughly enjoyed working with members to educate and assist them in understanding the benefits of their membership and how to utilize the tools that were offered.
Heather uses her prior experience to bring competence, enthusiasm, and excellent customer service skills to her role as Personal Insurance Agent at Cheney Insurance. She enjoys working with the clients, learning new things about the insurance industry and the teamwork that the Cheney office encompasses. Heather can always be counted on to ask the hard questions and suggest innovative ways to better serve our clients.
In her free time, Heather can often be found in the bleachers, cheering at her daughters’ basketball games and operating her own successful small-business. Though the most recent addition to the Cheney team, Heather has quickly shown her presence is invaluable.
Sandy Staples
Receptionist
Born and raised in Lincoln County, many of you may recognize Sandy’s smiling face when she greets you in reception. Originally from Whitefield, Sandy enjoyed some time living out of state before returning home in 1994 where she has resided ever since.
Sandy joins the team at Cheney Insurance with over 20 years of customer service and administrative experience and it shows. She can always be counted on to provide exceptional care and attention to detail when serving the needs of our customers and clients. Whether communicating via telephone or in person, Sandy enjoys every client interaction and takes pride in her ability to help out, no matter how big the job may be.
Known for her quick wit and boundless positivity, Sandy will be sure that you leave Cheney Insurance with a smile on your face.
Stephanie Mayo
Insurance Support Specialist
Stephanie was born and raised on Cape Cod, MA. She started vacationing in Maine after college and fell in love with the mid-coast area. She and her husband have lived in Waldoboro for the past 19 years where they raise their two sons.
Stephanie was hired on at Cheney Insurance to a newly created part-time position in our support department. She assists our accounting team, orders office supplies, takes overflow calls, fills in at the reception desk when needed, contributes to our blog … you get the picture.
Stephanie has consistently shown a willingness to take on any task asked of her. She will often see something that needs to be done and do it. Though she only works part-time, her presence is now an ever-present part of our team.
