Our Relationships with Insurance Carriers

In our last post we discussed value in doing business with your local insurance agency.  In this post we will discuss the relationships that Cheney Insurance has with the Insurance Carriers we represent and why that adds value to you.

At Cheney Insurance, we carefully choose the insurance companies we represent.  We work with over 15 different insurance companies ranging from national carriers such as Safeco to regional carriers such as Union Mutual.

Why is this important?

Insurance carriers are similar in many ways, however they do have their individual strengths or insurance market specialties.

For example, you recently inherited a 1970 Dodge Challenger that you need to insure for recreational use. One of the carriers we write with, Hagerty, specializes in antique and classic cars and might be the best option for you.

Bottom line is that the more selection you have among insurance carriers and the products they offer (insurance policies) the greater the opportunity we can find the best coverage for your unique needs.

How do we do this?

  • We meet regularly with our carriers to build relationships and to participate in educational programs.
  • Our carriers seek our input on the unique risks that face our communities in order for them to develop competitive products.

The Benefit to You

Have you ever had a problem with your billing and you call a 1-800# only to get stuck in an endless loop?  Call us, we often have direct lines to customer service representatives that can provide solutions.

After a storm, you have damage to your home and are not sure what to do.  Call us, we will initiate the claims process for you and get you to the help you need.

Many of the insurance carriers we represent have been in a professional relationship with us for over 25 years.  Personal contacts are a vital part of our business and they help us to personalize our service to you.

Stay Tuned

Our business relationships are important. The relationships we have with one another within our agency are vital too.  In our next blog we discuss how we believe great customer service begins with great working relationships in the office.  Not only do we consider it a privilege to serve you and to earn your trust, we enjoy doing so.
